Mojácar sits overlooking the sea from its high
perch in the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera.
Over the decades it has seen periods of growth
and decline, yet it preserves its peculiar structure
of stepped terraces and charming narrow little
streets.
One kilometre away down the hill, are more than
five kilometers of beachfront along which there
has been considerable though careful urban development.
There are twelve kilometers of virgin beaches
and coves which reach to the borders of the
Cabo de Gata Natural Park.
Mojácar attracts visitors from all over the
globe and a great many find themselves returning,
often to live. Mojácar is undoubtedly the most
cosmopolitan place in the whole region.
